Consignment Agreement

The Elephant’s Trunk accepts items it deems sellable based on style, condition and demand and reserves the right to refuse any item.  The Elephant’s Trunk establishes the selling price of all items.  All prices are subject to discounts and promotions up to 50%.

The consignment period is 120 days.  When an item sells during the consignment period, the Consignor earns 40% of the selling price after any item fees.  Items that don’t sell during the consignment period become the property of The Elephant’s Trunk.

The Elephant’s Trunk does not notify the Consignor when an item sells. Balance inquiries may be made during store hours in person at the shop, by phone or by Facebook messenger.  Money is available for payout 7-14 days from the date of sale to allow for item exchanges.

Payments are issued by store credit, check or cash (cash limit $25 per day) - a photo ID may be required.  Only the Consignor or an authorized individual listed on the account may pick up money and/or use store credit.  Account balances will remain on our books for two years – after two years of no account activity, balances will be purged.

The Elephant’s Trunk shall not be held liable for loss or damage to due to theft, fire, flood, etc.  We take great care to safeguard every item, including a 24 hour video surveillance and direct wired alarms.
